Keenyan Summer

I have some big mileage goals for the summer: 10 weeks 1000 miles. I know my racing will suffer as a result but hoping to cash in this fall with some fast times. I have some traveling in July which will make it tough, but I'm going to try my best to get the runs in and enjoy the trips.

Last week was my final week of school and I travelled to New York. The result: a 43 mile week. At least I'll be rested heading into the first big week of summer training.

So far on pace. Monday 14, Tuesday 15.

Last 2 weeks June 4th-17th

I ran 52miles and then followed that week with a 58mile week. It's safe to say the marathon is out of my legs now. Time to build up for a big summer of miles. Shooting for 1000miles in ten weeks once school is finally out. I raced on June 10th at the Newton 10k running a lack luster 33:43. Legs still flat from VCM. I was able to help the team but wish I had more in the tank. I'm really excited to train and get after it.

10mi/70min - Ran on the Westmoreland tracks with Najem, Ferenc and Griffin. We were going to run at Fyffe 's but he
got stuck at work. My legs feel good and I'm back in business.

Recovery runs

Mon - 0
Tues - 0
Wed - 5mi/35min - w/Griffin in Pisgah. A bit sore.
Thurs - 0 - had the 6th grade meet. My kids ran great!
Fri - 8mi/60min - w/Ferenc and the girls. Feeling good. A little lingering fatigue in legs
Sat - 8mi/54min - w/Najem, Ferenc and Griffin on the Westmoreland trails in the rain. Thank goodness my bros were there, would have been tough to run on my own in the down pour. Legs good
Sun - 10mi/69min in Pisgah w/Fyffe, Najem and Griffin. Good run.
Total - 31miles
